The historic Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge has existed since the 18th century. First built as a coaching inn, with a distinctive built form still evident today, the hotel has evolved over three centuries, providing a convenient stop for travellers and a gateway to the Lake District.  

Through a comprehensive extension and the introduction of new uses, the hotel now provides luxury spa facilities, positioning the Swan as a destination in its own right. The new spa includes an indoor / outdoor hydrotherapy pool, Finnish sauna, jacuzzi and several treatment rooms. Above, 26 new high-specficiation hotel rooms and provided in the 3-storey extension, built from a sustainable timber frame and constructed from locally-sourced materials.  

The hotel has recently been named as a finalist in the Cumbria Tourism Awards in the Best Large Hotel category.
