We are delighted to announce the promotion of Tom Smith of our Leeds studio to Partner!

Following an international career with roles at Henley Halebrown in London and Perkins + Will in Chacago, Tom joined DLG Architects’ Leeds studio in 2021 to head-up our south bank regeneration masterplan at Sweet Street West. He has extensive experience in design and delivery of large scale residential and commercial projects and has led on several award-winning schemes, including Kings Crescent in Hackney – a RIBA national award-winner – and Hudson Quarter in York.

At DLG, Tom leads projects across the BTR, workplace, retrofit, masterplanning and education sectors, including high-profile projects for some of our key national Clients. Tom’s advocacy for the improvement of design standards in housing has been pivotal to our ongoing success in the build-to-rent and residential sectors, and supports our Practice expertise and core focus on designing resilient, diverse places for our cities.

Partner at DLG Architects, Andrew Gardner, said David, Simon, Victoria and I are delighted to welcome Tom to the Partnership in recognition of his contribution since joining us in 2021. Tom’s promotion comes at an exciting time for the Practice, as key projects move to site and we continue to lead in the purpose-built residential sector. Tom brings creativity, experience and expertise and is an excellent addition to the Partnership.
