It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Damond Lock on 10th February 2025. He was 91.
After meeting at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Architecture, Damond founded DLG Architects in 1972 alongside Partners Stan Grabowski and Anthony Walker. From the Practice’s first offices in Manchester Square, Mayfair, Damond Lock Grabowski practiced people-driven masterplanning and design, later expanding out to Leeds whilst developing a large portfolio of clients with projects across the commercial sectors including new shopping centres, office buildings and almost everything in between.
Damond’s particular interest in retail, conservation and urban renewal typified much of the Practice’s early and ongoing successes, delivering masterplans and new, modern town centres across the UK.
An energetic architect, Damond retired in 1997; however, far from cleaning out his drawing pens, they were put to use throughout an active retirement which also saw him busy with his family, children and grandchildren.
The funeral will be held near Farnham in the afternoon of Monday 3rd March.
