The Great DLG Bake Off

Each Tuesday since 5th March, to coincide with British Bake Off Stand Up to Cancer, an anonymous baker has brought a homemade delight into the DLG office. After being demolished by the team, the bake was then anonymously judged and at the end of the competition, the bake(r) with the most votes won a voucher to a restaurant of their choosing.

Helen becomes a Master of Conservation

Conservation expertise has been a key part of our skills at DLG since the practice first started over 45 years ago and we are still passionate about maximising the special architectural and historical characteristics of each building we deal with.

A great start to the week! Our own Victoria Simpson, based at our London studio, has been long-listed for RIBA ‘Rising Star’ recognition.

On yer bike!

Last week, Arup Leeds and Gardiner & Theobald hosted a scenic bike ride over the high hills of the Yorkshire Dales. Amy Pearce from our Leeds Studio enjoyed the 50 mile bike ride, and additionally rode another 30 miles to  get there and back. Bravo Amy!

We were absolutely thrilled to win 'Best Architectural Practice' at the Insider Property Awards Yorkshire last week.

DLG at Cityscapes Dubai

Victoria joins RIBA’s Education Committee

CIAT Yorkshire Personal Development Day

Our David Bailey was a guest speaker at the CIAT Yorkshire Personal Development Day, held at Leeds Beckett University on 6th June. The theme was ‘Creativity in the Built Environment’ and David’s presentation provided insights into the design process behind the award-nominated Ashville College Sports Centre.

Welcoming Summertime – and the London Festival of Architecture

DLG London celebrated the arrival of summer – and the beginning of the London Festival of Architecture - in style with our friends in the Leather Market. LFA is running from the 1st – 30th of June 2018 with events, exhibitions and installations across the city.

DLG participate in LSA ‘Architecture Leeds’ event

We’re delighted to be participating in the ‘Architecture Leeds’ event, organised by the LSA to celebrate architectural practice in the Leeds area. Taking place between 6th April - 13th May, the event will feature a pop-up exhibition, series of lectures and schedule of exciting activities.

Monica Win: My First 6 Months Working in an Architect’s Studio

Since starting my job as a Part I Architectural Assistant at DLG I feel like time has flown by. It wasn’t only the start of my first ‘real’ job, but I had braved moving alone to London, all within weeks of leaving university. I hadn’t done any work experience at a practice beforehand so although I had spent 3 years studying architecture, I really didn’t know what to expect.
