A sustainable HQ building with a conservation area

DLG were selected to develop this complex site which was tucked in behind other buildings with limited frontages and which lies within a Conservation Area in order to provide a new HQ building.
The development incorporates natural wind tower ventilation to the four office floors, this has been engineered together with a system of night time cooling achieved by an in-situ concrete frame with flat slab construction, enabling air to be drawn across the structure unrestrictedly.
Lower floor heights to aid natural ventilation enabled DLG to achieve an additional floor within the tight constraints. A further 15,000 sq.ft of retail space at ground and basement levels and seven 1 & 2 bedroom flats were also incorporated into the scheme.
