Platform, formerly known as City House, was a British Railways building designed by the infamous “architect” Poulson. The building has earned it’s new name as it will be a platform for business, it’s also a nod to it’s location above Leeds City Train Station. Platform touches the ground in only three places, making it a challenging project. Working closely with Network Rail and Leeds City Council we have secured the necessary consents and approvals to enable to project to proceed to start on site in the Autumn of 2015.
Platform is going to be stripped back to the frame and re-clad and insulated. Internally new energy efficient heating and ventilation systems will be installed along with new WCs, Showers, parking, cycle facilities, Lifts etc. Once complete the twelve floors will boast Grade A office space with floor to ceiling double glazing, raised access floors, LED lighting and stunning views over Leeds. However, the best views will be from the new roof top terrace – a great place to watch the sun go down! Located right in the heart of the city with parking, large contemporary office suites and direct train access this will be a ‘go to’ office location.
